From April to November 2020,  Muhammadiyah’s Autonomous Institution such as Muhammadiyah Student Association, Tapak Suci and Hizbul Wathan was in cooperation with the Indonesian Red Cross of Surakarta held a blood donors social activity. This blood donors social activity was held 6 times at this year.

As usual, the blood donors activity was held in the hall of Faculty of Engineering Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta with 50 persons of donor quota. Because it was carried out in the middle of a pandemic, this social action of course obeyed health protocols, such as washing hands with soap, wearing masks and keeping the distance.

The coordinator of this agenda, who is also the Head of Administration for Faculty of Engineering UMS said that the agenda received support from Faculty of Engineering Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. In addition to be facilitated by the place for the activity, each donor this time was given a mask with the Faculty of Engineering UMS logo. “In this case, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering is very supportive for this social action”, she said.

She said she was contacted by the PMI Surakarta to collaborate in holding blood donation activities, because during the pandemic, the number of donors was very small. “Even PMI went to each donor’s house”, she commented.
