Show off Mosque Architecture in the Campus Environment

Friday (7/19), the southern courtyard of the Sudalmiyah Rais Mosque, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, was used as an exhibition venue for Mosque Architecture. The organizer of the exhibition is initiate by several Architecture students at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, who are currently taking mosque architecture courses.

Faizal Ramadhan, as the exhibition coordinator, said if this exhibition is a lecture assignment before the end of the even semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. According to his explanation, there was ten exhibition stand from ten groups. “We are exhibiting mosques, with several categories of case studies, such as mosques in the city center, mosques in prostitution areas, and several other case studies,” said Faizal.

Furthermore, Faizal mentioned that the purpose of this mosque exhibition is to open up architecture scientific discourse in the Islamic context. “Apart from that, we want to introduce to the public that there are works from my friends in the architecture study program that can be enjoyed and learned about Islamic values ​​in it,” he concluded.

The mosque architecture exhibition, only held for one day (7/19), starts at 07.00 – 16.00 WIT. (Risqi)
